Hardiest of Conifers
Pinus nigra, austriaca or maritima is one of the hardiest of conifers
Both Austrian and Maritime varieties are content in almost any soil type
They are one of the few conifers to succeed in coastal environments
They grow at a moderate rate and smell of fresh pine oils through Spring and Summer
Please note that Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is reported as dying out in southern UK because of global warming but Pinus nigra are growing better in these new conditions
